  1. In 1998 Safaz Signs & Electrical CC was essentially a signage business. We had a 2 year contract with Total SA for preventative maintenance. The contract entails cleaning of all signage, manufacture & replacement of damaged & missing signage as well as general maintenance of sites to comply with Total’s specifications & standards.
  2. In 2002 Safaz Signs & Electrical expanded into maintenance & repair work for City of Cape Town & the Provincial Administration of the Western Cape.
  3. We specialize in building maintenance work including electrical installations, tiling, painting, asphalting, paving, plumbing, roof repairs, waterproofing, plastering, roof cleaning, structural steel work, carpentry, maintenance work to air-conditioning units and welding.
  4. In 2004 we expanded into capital projects (construction from foundation to completion of building)
  5. Our mission at Safaz is to deliver excellence through maintaining a high standard of quality, excellent workmanship and customer satisfaction and to become the leader in our field of business, namely construction & building maintenance.
  6. Safaz Signs and Electrical is located on the premises of the Medical Research Council in Brentwood Park. The business is registered as a close corporation with myself owning 100% of the shares.
  7. Kashiefa Jappie –  Sole member & owner – Project manager, possesses a B.Bibl degree.  Five years experience in the maintenance and repair projects. She was awarded the Construction Woman of the Year by the Department of Transport & Public Works in August 2006 for outstanding performance.  She is responsible for overseeing all the projects & is a hands-on construction person.
  8. Our success lies in our ability to negotiate the best prices from our suppliers as well as our subcontractors, without minimizing our quality and also priding ourselves in the after services response time.
  9. Communication is an important tool between the workers and the supervisors. In order for workmanship to be efficient and effective, the communication process must transmit information that is easily recognizable by those for whom it is intended, and it is vital that the information be of utter accuracy.
  10. Efficiency indicates that materials are used wisely and are not wasted. An important quality of the management’s tasks is control; which is a process of establishing a mechanism to ensure that targets are reached for each day & to ensure that the objectives are achieved.
  11. Our management consists of qualified individuals, who each have a set of functions in order to attain effective and efficient organizational goals. In order for staff to strive and be motivated, management should praise them for consistent and competent workmanship.
  12. Workers also wear the relevant protective clothing when performing certain work, eg. welding or wearing protective helmets when entering a construction site. Our business policy is to act against those individuals who do not adhere to the safety rules.
  13. We also make use of subcontractors whose workmanship only serves to enhance our company’s reputation as a reliable company that work efficiently.
